Elevator Pitch No. 2
Reflection:
Overall I got great feedback on my elevator pitch the first time. Everyone thought that I did a great job presenting and incorporating facts and statistics into my pitch. Everyone said that my passion for the subject shined through and made the business idea more interesting. The main constructive feedback I got from my first pitch was that I should add a name for the company to help tie everything together. I think not having a name the first time made my idea seem less real and more hypothetical. The other bit of constructive feedback I got was that I could work on adding more facial expressions and hand gestures to make myself as a presenter seem more confident and less nervous.
Elevator Pitch:
What did you change, based on the feedback?
Based on the feedback from my first elevator pitch, I gave my business a name. I also practiced my delivery of the pitch several times to become more comfortable with it and make it feel more authentic. I practiced several times in front of a mirror so that I could work on my facial expressions and hand gestures. But I tried not to over-practice because, again, I wanted it to feel natural and authentic.

Hi Grace,
ReplyDeleteI wanted to watch your sales pitch for a second time to see if you improved from the first time. From the start, it seemed like your energy and confidence were very high. However, I am afraid that you might have uploaded the wrong file because it cuts off after 30 or so seconds. Next time make sure to insert the right video but keep on improving!

I enjoyed how you tied together eating burgers with what that will actually do to you (headaches, and acne). You showed more excitement and intrigue from the last time you posted your pitch. And I also saw how you practiced your facial expressions, this added to the intrigue. I guess you uploaded the wrong video. I would love to see how this pitch evolved!
ReplyDeleteGrace, fantastic job! It did not come across to me that you were uncomfortable at all in your pitch. This is proof that your practice really worked. Over-all, you had great energy. With that said, I think you pitch was a little bit on the shorter end. I think you could improve this by a) talking a little bit slower and b) talking a little bit more about your company and your solution. With that said, you definitely have the building blocks here for an amazing pitch. Great job!
